“As a Service” technologies enable access to web services and data in the cloud.

The supply of and demand for services (Software as a Service, SaaS) and data (Data as a Service, DaaS) is continuously increasing. After all, access and integration of “as a service” technologies nowadays prove to be fast, uncomplicated, reliable, secure – and, compared to other solutions, also very cost-effective.

Examples

A very well-known example of “Data as a Service” is the integration of map services on company websites in order to display one’s own location and enable potential customers to navigate there. Other, less superficially acting services provide, for example, product catalogues or make financial data available.

“As a Service” also for easymap

“As a service” technologies have long played an important role for easymap as well. On the one hand, easymap maps can be integrated into other applications; on the other hand, many additional data and services can now be accessed and/or integrated from easymap, for example B2B data and addresses (b2bselect), geocoding services or routing services. The provision of area-wide, always up-to-date weather data (WetterOnline) in the easymap cartography also brings important additional insights for many industries.
