easymap route planning

easymap route planning extends the functional scope of easymap professional to include strategic route planning and workload calculation.

With the new tools, you can ensure the best possible sales territories, an even workload for your field staff and shorter travel times for longer customer visits. You not only save on fuel and accommodation costs, but also improve your company’s carbon footprint.

Comparison of travel and visiting times

easymap route planning allows you to compare travel and visit times and thus provides an insight into the workload of your sales representatives. On this basis, your sales territories are reorganized according to actual capacities and geographical conditions and customers and travel times are distributed fairly.

The aim is always to increase visiting times and reduce travel times. The optimal allocation of territories is an ongoing process because both the customer base and the employee base are subject to frequent changes.

A sales representative spends around 26% of their working time traveling.

Travel time challenge

Travel time (26%) and visiting time (27%) are the two largest blocks of working time in field service.

Time spent with customers is the most valuable time for your sales representatives. This is where you can build up a personal relationship, communicate benefits and conclude orders. The more time you can devote to customer contacts, the more successful you will be. The biggest lever for gaining time for actual customer contact is to reduce travel times. The basis for this is the optimal allocation of customers to sales representatives and a correspondingly effective allocation of sales territories with easymap route planning.

Potentials

A practical example illustrates the enormous potential that lies in the reduction of travel times and their scalability:

If the daily travel time of a sales representative is reduced by an average of 30 minutes, this means a time gain of 2.5 hours per week or 10 hours per month or 120 hours per year for the employee. Extrapolated to a net annual working time (excluding public holidays, vacation, illness) of 1,600 hours, these 120 hours saved mean 7.5% more effective time for customer visits.

For a sales force of 50 employees, this results in a total saving of 6,000 hours per year. Or to put it another way: you gain almost 4 additional employees.

Your benefit: 120 hours less travel time per year and sales representative – and therefore 7.5% more time for your customers
