NEWS . No danger for easymap users due to security hole in log4j
Since we do not use this logging library, our easymapoffice products are also not affected by the current problems
Dangerous – but not for our products!
Currently, many media are reporting about the security leak (CVE-2021-44228) in log4j. log4j is a frequently encountered open source logging library for Java applications. It records events such as certain user requests during server operation as if in a logbook – for example, for later evaluation of errors. The BSI (German Federal Office for Information Security) has issued threat level 4/red in this regard and points out that the critical vulnerability can have an impact on all Java applications accessible via the Internet that log parts of user requests with the help of log4j.
We are also receiving more and more enquiries from unsettled users of our products on this topic, so we hereby announce:
Don’t worry! There’s no problem with easymap
We do not use the digital logging library log4j for any of our easymap office products, so our software is not affected by the current security vulnerability. You can therefore continue to use all our easymap office components without any worries.
