2. Individual (energy) data from surveys
Special data from the CASA Monitor survey
Via the CASA Monitor household online survey, which is conducted several times a year, we constantly generate fresh information on various topics from 10,000 changing households each time. Here you can even integrate your own questions to consumers in Germany about your product, your topic at any time! From the survey data, which is enriched with numerous market and micro data, we develop, among other things, area-wide potentials, segments, clusters and personas and accumulate them into a central CASA Life database (for details see below).
Data from individual surveys is of interest across all industries for all companies that have specific questions for their customers and target groups. Data on energy topics is an important basis for the planning of service providers, network providers or utilities from the energy sector as well as municipalities.
CASA Monitor generates answers quickly and accurately. The data offers many other options. For example, the geocoded survey data can also be alluded to existing addresses and thus integrated into daily work.

Comprehensive individual data
The quantitative analysis of the respondents’ answers alone yields interesting insights. We also enrich the answers with an individual geocode, through which they can be precisely localized and linked to numerous other market and micro data. This allows us to learn much more about the respondents, for example about their residential building, living environment, socio-demographics, energy supply, consumer behavior or preferences. Area-wide twin searches can then be used to calculate the potential for each address in Germany.
Formation of segments, clusters and personas
Based on the enriched survey data, we perform segmentations and form clusters with typical characteristics. All clusters can be described precisely thanks to the high level of data diversity. In in-depth interviews with individual representatives of the clusters, we gain additional, very individual knowledge. We can then condense the characters into personas, which can be used very effectively in sales and marketing.

The energy types
In the CASA Monitor Energy, general questions were asked about the attitude and equipment of households with regard to energy consumption in general, as well as specifically about the energy self-sufficiency topics of equipping with solar, electricity storage or mini power plants. The results were applied to the whole of Germany and seven energy clusters were developed by means of segmentation, three of which have a high affinity. The persona TINA was formed as a proxy for the most relevant group.

In addition to the specific thematic data from the areas of consumption, mobility, telecommunications or energy, in each CASA Monitor we also ask for general data on household equipment, housing, etc. All data from all surveys are cumulated in the CASA Life database, which is available to our clients. Since we re-survey at least 30% of the previous year’s respondents each year, even time series comparisons can be made.

The geographic base system
At the heart of the CASA database is the innovative Postal-Agency Classification System (PAGS). It contains all the approx. 1.8 million addresses of companies and associations entered in the commercial register – and thus the Who’s Who of the German economy. In addition to company names, postal addresses and industries, the data records also contain the 2.2 million contact persons stored as well as information on contact options and company size.
